A little wisdom. A little nonsense. Occasionally both.

A new Howl from the hounds each week—sometimes funny, sometimes thoughtful, and sometimes simply something that needed to be said.

Howls from the Hounds

This Week’s Howl:

10/22/26:

A Royal Decree from the Hounds

Hear ye, hear ye!

Let it be known throughout the Pack that no member shall ever be considered too old, too small, too ordinary, or too different to belong.

Whether you walk on two legs or four, whether your coat is gray with age or your paws are still growing, there is a place for you beside our hearth.

For the strength of a Pack is not measured by the size of its members, but by the love and loyalty they share.

And no matter how far our paths may lead us, no member of the Pack shall ever be forgotten.

Once a member of the Pack, always a member of the Pack.

By order of the Hounds of Emerald Hounds Abound. 🐺💚

Ancient Howls:

9/16/26:

If you leave a Wolfhound unattended with a perfectly good couch, you have not left the Wolfhound unattended.
You have left the couch unattended.

9/23/26

If a cat is staring at you, stare back. Unless you’re Hooligan. Then scream for Mom.

9/30/26

If something fits in your mouth, it belongs to you.
If it doesn’t fit in your mouth, try harder.

10/7/26:

If a Wolfhound suddenly collapses in the middle of a public street, do not panic.

Check first to see whether she has simply decided it is time for a belly rub.

10/14/26

Once upon a time, Irish Wolfhounds were trusted to hunt wolves.

Today, we require assistance getting into the car.

Civilization has clearly softened us.
