DEAR BRAIN FAIRY
Dear Brain Fairy,
Hi. It’s me, Clover.
You probably know who I am —
I’m the giant black fluffball
whose paws make thunder on the kitchen floor.
I’m only eleven months old.
Yes, eleven.
I look like a small horse,
but I’m still a baby in a dog suit.
Mom and Dad keep saying
“Clover, think!”
I really, really try.
But my thinker is still in puppy mode
and sometimes I chew the wrong thing,
zoom at the wrong time,
or forget my manners.
Could you come visit me soon?
Just a sprinkle of grown-up wisdom,
a pinch of patience,
a spoonful of self-control…
I’d even leave you my favorite squeaky toy
under my pillow if that helps.
I love my humans,
I want to be their good girl.
I’m practicing every day.
But until you arrive,
please remind them I’m still little
inside this big body.
Love (and slobbery kisses),
Clover
