Welcome to LongTales!

WHAT ARE THEY AND WHY ARE THEY HERE?

Because not every great animal story has a wolfhound in it.

Emerald Hounds Abound began with Irish Wolfhounds, but the world surrounding them has always been filled with an extraordinary cast of characters. Over the years, our home has welcomed dogs, cats, ferrets, chickens, and an assortment of other creatures, each bringing their own personalities, adventures, and occasional catastrophes into our lives.

And then there are the humans. Some of whom, quite frankly, have contributed considerably more to the chaos than the animals ever did.

That's where LongTales comes in.

LongTales is a collection of true stories from beyond the world of our Irish Wolfhounds. Some are hilarious, some are touching, and others are so completely ridiculous that you might reasonably question whether they actually happened. They did. Much to the dismay of certain people who were unfortunate enough to be involved.

You'll meet animals who left their own unforgettable marks on our lives, along with the people who have shared the journey. Among them is our veterinarian of nearly thirty years, affectionately known as Doc, a man whose patience has been tested in ways no veterinary school could possibly prepare anyone for.

These stories are part of the same life, the same family, and the same love of animals that inspired Emerald Hounds Abound in the first place. They simply take a few detours away from the wolfhound path.

So come along, meet some new characters, revisit a few old friends, and enjoy the adventures, misadventures, and occasional spectacular failures of common sense.

Welcome to LongTales. The Pack is bigger than you think. 🐾
